Viet Nam – Japan Academic Forum launches its official website and Facebook page

Our official website vj-academicforum.org and Facebook page are now live. The Winter 2026 edition takes place on Sunday afternoon, 6 December 2026, in Tokyo and online; registration closes on 15 November.

The Organising Committee of the Viet Nam – Japan Academic Forum is pleased to announce that the forum’s official website, vj-academicforum.org, and Facebook page, facebook.com/VJAcademicForum, are now live.

They will be the forum’s official channels for Vietnamese researchers, doctoral and university students in Japan, and for Japanese academics, researchers and companies interested in academic cooperation between the two countries.

Why the forum has its own website

The forum is planned as an annual event. Each edition takes one theme, with research presentations and an open panel discussion, aiming to move from cooperation agreements to education and research projects with real results.

The website will:

  • Give complete, accurate information on each edition: theme, programme, speakers, and how to register and attend.
  • Serve readers in Vietnamese, Japanese and English.
  • Keep a record of every edition, with slides, photos, video and a summary, as groundwork for the next.
  • Introduce the organisers, partners and sponsors who support the forum.

The Facebook page carries quick announcements and photos; the website holds the official, long-term information.

Winter 2026 edition

  • Theme: “Cooperate, innovate and create together”
  • Date: Sunday afternoon, 6 December 2026
  • Format: in person in Tokyo, and online via Zoom with Kansai, Kyushu, Hokkaido and other regions
  • Size: about 90–100 seats in person

The confirmed venue will be emailed to those who register to attend in person.

Three core topics

  • Models of Viet Nam – Japan cooperation in education and research: how do we move from agreements to education and research with real results?
  • Attracting resources and raising the quality of research cooperation: what does Japan need from Viet Nam for more sustainable and effective bilateral research cooperation?
  • The role of young Vietnamese scholars in Japan: what can young scholars do to build a sustainable and substantive Viet Nam – Japan academic network?

The provisional programme includes an opening and keynote report, a session of 5–6 presentations, a tea break, an open panel discussion and a closing summary. Details and speakers will be posted on the Programme page.

Registration

The forum is open to everyone interested. When you register, choose to attend in person in Tokyo or online. The form is short: name, email, format and, if you like, a question to send the speakers or panel in advance.

Deadline: 15 November 2026. Register here.
